Secular Organizations for Sobriety-First Meeting

The first meeting of the new SOS group is Sunday Feb. 27 at 8:30 at The Avenue Community Centre, 201-320 21st St. W., Saskatoon, SK.

There is a new support group for addicted individuals in Saskatoon. For people who are uncomfortable with the spiritual content of 12-step and faith-based programs, one alternative is Secular Organizations for Sobriety/Save Our Selves. SOS is a sobriety-focused, secular, self-empowering approach to addiction recovery.

We respect diversity, welcome healthy skepticism, and encourage rational thinking as well as the expression of feelings. We each take responsibility for our individual sobriety without depending upon supernatural beliefs.

It should never be necessary to compromise principles and integrity in the search for recovery.
First Meeting: Sunday, February 27, 2011, 8:30 p.m.

Repeats: 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, 8:30 p.m.

Where: The Avenue Community Centre, 201-320 21st St. W., Saskatoon, SK Contact: sos_sask@cficanada.ca

This is a sobriety meeting. Our focus is on abstaining from alcohol or other mind-altering drugs.

  1. Are you still holding meetings? When and where? Are they regularly held and do you have contact info for people looking for meetings?
