The Canadian Light Source Gets Ongoing Funding

The Star Phoenix has this story about the Canadian Light Source getting ongoing funding for the next several years.

The federal and provincial governments are investing an additional $15.7 million in the Canadian Light Source synchrotron during the next four years to cover the facility’s costs of operation.

Western Economic Diversification Canada is investing $4 million in the next four years, bringing its total commitment since the 2008 budget to $5 million.

The funding is in addition to a $44-million contribution from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada announced last fall.

The Saskatchewan government will invest $11.7 million over a four-year period, beginning with a $1-million contribution in 2010-11.
