Dr. Ghadirian is a Professor at McGill University, Faculty of Medicine and an Emeritus Physician of McGill University Health Centre. He has done extensive research looking into the connections between spirituality and medicine and published over 130 research articles in scientific journals in the field of psychiatry and behavioural sciences. He is the author of ten books, including, Creative Dimensions of Suffering and In Search of Nirvana: A New Perspective on Alcohol and Drug Dependency.
