Feed Your Brain: Saskatchewan Archaeological Society Fall Bus Tour

Feel like skipping the turkey this year and instead learning a little Saskatchewan and Manitoba archaeology?   The Saskatchewan Archaelogical Society has their fall bus tour thanks giving weekend (Oct. 10 to 12).  The agenda of the tour is:

Day 1 leaving Saskatoon 8:00AM

  • Humboldt Telegraph Station site
  • Historic buildings in Muenster
  • Wadena Wildlife Wetlands
  • Fort Alexandria and possible precontact sites near Canora
  • Doukhobor Prayer Home in Veregin

Day 2 from Swan River, MB

  • Fur Trade posts of the Swan River Valley
  • Thunder Hill Precontact Site
  • Beaches of Glacial Lake Agassiz
  • The Diamond Slides
  • Tent Town

Day 3: leaving Swan River at 9:00

  • Fort Pelly Livingstone Museu
  • Associated Fort Pelly posts Fort Pelly I and II and Fort Livingstone

Return to Saskatoon approximately 5:00 pm.

While I have never gone on the tours, several of my family members really enjoy them.
