Ask Deepak Chopra A Question

Posted in Event, lecture, news, Saskatoon with tags , on January 26, 2011 by saskskeptic

The Star Phoenix is offering its readers an opportunity to ask Deepak Chopra a question.  What would you ask him?

I might ask:

Deepak how do you justify speaking and writing authoritatively about topics no one can know for certain? For example, how do you know reincarnation occurs, there is an after life, or God exists.  How can you know that a person’s personal beliefs affect their experience in the afterlife.  Isn’t this just gross speculation and wishful thinking.

Why do you insist on wrapping your metaphysics in a veneer of quantum physics. Physicists have repeatedly told you that your understanding of quantum physics is wrong?  Unlike unknowable untestable topics such as the afterlife you do not get to rewrite physics to match your beliefs. Should this be interpreted as attempting to use legitimate  science to prop up your unscientific ideas and highly speculative propositions?

Best-selling author and spiritual adviser Deepak Chopra is coming to Saskatoon for a presentation at TCU Place on Feb. 20. He’s willing to answer questions posed by StarPhoenix readers.

Called “the poet-prophet of alternative medicine” by Time Magazine, Chopra is the author of more than 50 books translated into more than 35 languages.

Here’s your chance to learn about creativity, leadership and alternative medicine. Ask Chopra a question and we’ll post a selection of his answers in the next few weeks.

Email your question to cfuller@thestarphoenix.com.
